Unpopular Opinions Tag

A note before you read: please remember that these are my opinions and I in no way am trying to hurt or argue with anyone who disagrees with these opinions. Please don’t post hateful or mean comments, but I would love for you to post your own opinions in the comments below as long as they are kind and appropriate. Also, I am going to keep spoilers OUT of this post, so feel free to read freely. Those who have read what I’m talking about will know.

  1. A popular book series you didn’t like.
    1. This question is really hard because I usually don’t hate popular series. There are some stand alone books I haven’t loved, but no popular series. However, my answer would be the House of Night series by PC Cast. This was a series I loved in middle school when it was first starting to come out. But by book 4 when I was caught up to her publishing them, the main character had about 4 boyfriends, the main bad guy still hadn’t shown up. It just seemed to be dragging out so much further than I thought it needed and now we’re on book 8 or 9. This series is very popular, or it was at least, but I just can’t really stand by it anymore.

25 Bookish Facts About Me

To get to know me a little better, here are 25 bookish facts about me! 🙂

  1. Harry Potter was the first book that I ever fully finished. We were assigned to read it in my 5th grade English class and I loved it!
  2. Twilight was the book that actually got me into reading YA fiction.
  3. My BIGGEST pet peeve is bending or dog earing pages in books. I don’t ever do it to my books and it just irks me when I see other people do it to theirs.
  4. I have never read the Series of Unfortunate Events series, nor the Percy Jackson series.
    1. Updated: I have actually started the Lightning Thief as of this being posted

Inside flap / Back of the book summaries: Too much info? Or not enough (Discuss)

It really just depends on the book and the author. Usually I love the summaries and those are what I depend on to decide if I want to read the book or not, but on a few occasions I have read a summary that gave me just a little too much information that made the climax or plot twist not as exciting.

New book: What form do you want it in? Be honest: audio book, e-book, paperback, or hardcover?

I like hardcovers because they look pretty on my shelves and are usually all one size fits all. BUT honestly, I almost only buy paperback. They’re cheaper and I like the feel of paperbacks more. Not to mention I hate dust covers. (They’re pretty, but  I can’t read with the dust cover on.)

Reading Habits Book Tag

Question #1: Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Not really. I usually just read in bed or wherever I so choose. But once I get in my own place, or my own home, I plan on setting up a nice little comfy corner with a giant bean bag and some mood lighting to read in.
Question #2: Bookmark or a random piece of paper?
As much as I love bookmarks, to be honest, it’s usually just some random piece of paper I happen to have near me. Recently it’s been those paint sample sheets you can get at lowes! 🙂 They’re the perfect size!

A Brief Update

Strike Five

A Brief Update on my online series, Strike Five. I have been working extensively lately on this series- world building, plot doctoring, character designs, sequels, and so on. And I have decided that this series is going to be very big. There will be five novels or novellas, a full history, information you need to know, etc. So to help you guys- and myself- in keeping everything straight and in one place, and to not clog up my normal blog, I have created a separate blog specifically for the series.

You can find that HERE.

Here I can separate out the different stories, keep helpful information in it’s own spot, and keep you all updated on ONLY this series.

For those of you who have started this series already and have been following it, I would suggest rereading the first three chapters posted on the site, as I have done a lot of editing and reworking some things that it’s almost brand new. And be sure to check out the cheat sheets I made up! They’re pretty awesome!
